+There seems to be an issue with the web version of Gmail that a few people have run into. Clicking on some external download links will result in extremely slow downloads or the download failing completely. The solution is to copy the download link from the email and paste it into the address bar of the web browser, i.e. outside of the Gmail web interface. That should resolve the issue and the APK should download correctly.
