December 2024: Merged winter

It's the last month the year. The team wishes everyone a happy winter season and happy holidays.

Highlights

  • Thanks Lx32 and dottormac

  • Framework - status

Thanks Lx32 and dottormac

We want to give a special thanks to our former RetroDECK Team members Lx32 & dottormac.

Both of them made contributions to RetroDECK over it's lifespan. Sometimes things in-real-life takes away your time to contribute to a open source project.

  • dottormac helped a lot of with early testing of RetroDECK.
  • Lx32 focused on the SRM implemention (but started with BoilR back in the day) for adding games to Steam.

They have both graduated to RetroDECK Alumni and have a special role on Discord. Us in the rest of the Team wishes them happy journey going forward.

Keep in touch you two, Itakatta! 🤌🍕🍝🍌🤌 ❤️

Framework - status

  • RetroDECK can now pickup logged in Steam profiles to inject into systems like SRM that require it.
  • Several light manifest pipeline issues have been resolved.
  • Piped even more logs into the central retrodeck.log

PortMaster - Status

  • No reported issues and it works as it should in cooker.

SRM - Status

  • SRM is now working (from initial tests) with your Steam username and is syncing your favorite games to Steam.

Godot Configurator - status

  • More menus and buttons have been added.
  • Added the ability to launch SRM for those that want to tweak settings or images.

What is left for 0.9.0b release?

  • As of now all the big features are implemented but they need more testing by the team and the community testers.
  • Emulators / Components updates and resolve any issues that comes from that.
  • The Godot Configurator still have some missing tools from the Legacy Configurator not implemented yet such as: move folders, bios checker with the new format and compression.

That is all for now

There are more things we are working on, but you will see them in future blog updates!

Thanks everyone!
