The ~/.emulationstation folder is now organized into categories. Everything probably broke again.
Added support for "theme sets," instead of just one theme for each system.
Read the top of THEMES.md for more information.
Added support for reading from `/etc/emulationstation/` for themes,
gamelists, and es_systems.cfg.
Updated documentation to match.
Changed around some version string constants.
Fixed GuiInputConfig assigning "key up" Input instead of the "key down" input (breaks joystick axes, generates warnings).
You can change the "transition style" in the UI options.
Added "string" type to "Settings".
Fixed problems with loading settings when --home-path was not the exactly first
argument supplied.
Some other slight changes to better fit with SDL2's joystick improvements.
Completely redid GuiDetectDevice and GuiInputConfig.
Inching closer and closer to beta.
Added LambdaAnimation (which lets you use a lambda for the apply method).
Useful for simple one-off animations.
Added animation slots - only one animation can play per slot. This way
you can have two animations run at the same time.
Added a simple "LOADING" screen when ES starts up.
ViewController now preloads GameListViews so there's no lag when browsing
to a system for the first time.
If you know something is about to cause the framerate to tank (e.g. theme
loading), you can tell the next update to be, at maximum, the average of
the previous five seconds of frames.
The framerate drawing code has also been moved to Window.
Get a list of joysticks / HID devices from the system (scan
"/dev/input/js*" on Linux / use GetRawInputDeviceInfo() on Windows) and
poll again every 5s via a SDL timer. If the list changes SDL can be
re-inited. Atm only a log message is written.
SDL_mixer is not in the standard SDL distribution. The mixing is now
done using regular SDL_Audio functions. AudioManager is converted to a
singleton and std::shared_ptrs are used for all Sound objects. Note that
for GCC "-std=c++11" might need to be added to the CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS.
You should no longer see non-error output with ES except for "cleanly shutting down".
The new log file is located in ~/.emulationstation/es_log.txt.
If you notice any performance degredation, please tell me!
